I always get weird looks when I’m standing on the edge of a cliff, taking photos of my luggage case. I can’t help it, have you seen it? I don’t think I could have picked a better case if I had been given a million dollars to do it.
It fits my personality and style, like a second skin. And quite frankly, when you travel like I do, your suitcase becomes part of you. So the next time you see a loud, bright, star wars case at the airport, have a look for me. I am probably the one wearing pineapple pants and luminous clothing.
And yes, I got it before I even heard about the latest Star Wars movie, that came out this year. Although that is not to say I am not tempted to try the Kylo-Ren Challenge I really should do that, shouldn’t I?
In all seriousness, I love my luggage. And these are just a few reasons as to why.
It’s An Instagram Dream –
Let’s be real, my generation, the one after me, and most likely a couple after that. See a lot of life, with their Instagram visors on. There are entire hotel groups that are renovating their establishments, to become “more” Instagram-able”, to the public.
It’s an actual selling point. This is an article by FORBES, detailing what and what is not viewed as Insta-worthy, to today’s traveler. And I pass no judgment either. I know just how much I love to Instagram and tweet, things. My American Tourister case happens to be one of those things.
Size Does Matter –
I am always going somewhere, or about to go somewhere, or on my way back from somewhere. My job, my passions in life, everything about who I am, requires me to be able to move at the drop of a hat.
So I need luggage that can keep up with me. I can’t be lugging a huge suitcase on the back of a game vehicle, nor can I survive a week living out of a handbag.
I need to enough space to pack clothing, shoes, and all the digital equipment, and still be able to carry with one hand if needs are. And the fact that my Star Wars case is actually carry on size is a major perk, yay for no checked luggage. I do have a larger case if I need it, but I am not traveling internationally at the moment, sadly. So it’s sitting at home most of the time.
It Can Go Through A LOT!!! –
Make no mistake, I am NOT saying one should mistreat their luggage. Nor am I saying that you should throw your luggage in the air like you just don’t care. What I am saying is that if you are like me, your adventures often include some rough terrain. Dirt roads, bush-veld, and graveled surfaces. And my luggage, well it’s like the Bear Grylls of luggage. Nothing is a match for its survival skills.
Airbnb to 5* Hotel –
Okay, so the design I chose is loud and funky. And I can honestly tell you, that it’s been welcome both at Backpackers and 5 Star Luxury Resorts. I have never felt out of place with my case, in fact, its almost an accessory, that I dress up or down when traveling.
I’m Going On An Adventure –
My case is a daily reminder, that there is so much more to explore in this world. When I am not on the road, I have it perfectly positioned in full view, so that I can be reminded of adventures had and adventures yet to come.
When you live, eat, and breathe travel, not being on the road can make you feel like a caged animal. All you want to do, is get moving, and the longer you are not moving, the more the need grows, the more the craving sets in.
Did you know, that the sea in one destination smells nothing like the sea in another and yet, entirely the same? – CeecesTravel
And then, eventually, that day comes. You pull out the suitcase, and you start packing for your next venture.
Will you go, to the sea perhaps?
Or maybe to the bush?
Or better yet, will you take to the SKY!
Either way, you will be going with your favorite suitcase. So make sure it’s a good one, make sure its benefits, not ails your journey.
